Wojciech Stanek received his MSc degree on Mechanical Engineering in the Silesian University Technology (Gliwice, POLAND) in 1994. In 1995 he joined the staff of the Institute of Thermal Technology in the Silesian University of Technology (Gliwice, POLAND).
In 1998 Wojciech Stanek finished his PhD thesis on System Analysis of the Choice of Thermal Parameters of Blast and of the Addition of Auxiliary Fuels in a Blast Furnace Process (in Polish). In the same year he received PhD degree on Mechanical Engineering in the Silesian University of Technology. Part of the PhD thesis of Wojciech Stanek was closely connected with exergy analysis of blast-furnace process.
In 1997 Wojciech Stanek started the cooperation with Prof. Jan Szargut in the fields of application of exergy analysis for determination of ecological effects (thermoecological cost analysis). Wojciech Stanek is the author and co-author of 64 scientific papers and articles.
Fields of interests of Wojciech Stanek are connected with energy management of industrial plants, exergy and ecology analysis (thermoecological cost analysis), thermodynamics and heat transfer, system analysis sustainable development. Wojciech Stanek is involved in the cooperation with Polish energy industry.
